Single Lane Bridge at Kelvin
Due to requests for information on this rarely run portion of the Gila River, added this small selection covering the Kelvin to Ashurst Diversion Dam section. Thanks to Jonathan Fuller for the pre-run data. 400 CFS is as low as I would go on this section with 500-600 being much better. No rapids as such, but many, many strainers, a couple whom ranged into the nasty category. I calculated 21 miles but everyone else seems to peg the length at 15 miles. Not sure who to believe. We carried the boats about 30-40 yards from where they were being inflated to the launch site. Took roughly 1.5 hours to drive from the diversion dam to the put-in.
