Longest shuttle I've ever done. Killer shuttle. A shuttle spanning two days. Rendezvous was the Wellington Subway parking lot with gear transferred from soccer mom van to the 4x4. Just enough time left to start the Nine Mile Canyon Road. Half-hour later it was dusk and we were winging it for a campsite. Turned to outlaw camping in the group picnic area. Worked well, especially considering the overhead shelter and 22 degree night-time low. Nine Mile is interesting for the first half and then becomes emptiness behind, ahead, and to the side. Legendary evil dirt road turned mellow by all the new oil activity .
