We all enjoyed 9 AM launches instead of packing at daybreak. From the moment we left camp at
Monument Ridge, this was a great day on the river. The paddling picked up a notch in intensity while the
scenery was just
superb. There were dozens of possible strainers/sweepers, but only a half-dozen or so that we had to
scout or portage. This
downfall among the worst but usually
a thru-passage could be found. This is the
view upriver from the downed trees.
