Day 4 - River House Ruin to Just Below Mexican Hat

After a calm run through the upper narrows, fighting a headwind to Mexican Hat was ugly. Gypsum Creek was the most unpleasant rapid of the trip and while Raplee Anticline should have been scenic, the wind made it not so. Seeing two hats, one cowboy and one Mexican, provided only momentary relief. The wind so strong we gave consideration to camping at the Hat itself. However, none of us liked the spot so we pushed off and made camp at the first bend below the bridge. That camp very forgettable except for the memorable episode of Doran chasing down his wind-blown tent before it floated down-river.
