Day 9 - Oljeto Canyon to Clay Hills Crossing

About the only good thing to say about this day was we made it out. Mark mentioned that if we had not ran into the Durango wildman in the green cataraft, we might have given up for the day. If he could do it, so could we. Thirty-five mph sustained with gusts to fifty. Working flat out, headway was at times still impossible to make. Aground on a sandbar aways a possibility in the shallow water. Think this is about as much sand in the tent or in my clothes as I've ever had. Did not make packing the trailer at Clay Crossing any easier. Kathy, the shuttle lady, said they had a hard time seeing the road in the sandstorm when doing the dropoff that morning.
