Before pushing off on day two, took a thirty minute hike to atop the first ridgeline. Camp is at bottom left of the photo. Just starting to enter the "Gila Box" proper. This river reminded me a lot of the Canadian River Canyon in New Mexico, but more upscale.
Upriver and
downriver from the hot springs. Pretty
typical stretch of the river. Some sections definitely pointed downhill. Little more water, a few spots could be trouble with someone of my limited skill set. Never got any photos of the interesting stretches.
