Upper Green River - May 2012 - Warren Bridge to Fontenelle Reservoir - Part 2 of 5
Typical view in the valley below Warren Bridge, again with smoke in the sky.
We didn't want to scout every possible site from the cars, so we just set the shuttle from Warren # 12 to the end of the line at Names Hill, loaded the boats for up to four days on the water, and set out. With a lot of time spent on the shuttle, our next day was 17.5 miles to Daniel Access/40 Rod. As we set up camp, afternoon storm cells gained strength. Near sundown, downdrafts off the storms ripped through our camp. I've spent my life in the wind, and I estimate the gusts that ripped grommets out of my tarp were at least 40 mph, maybe 50. Plan for wind.
