Upper Green River - May 2012 - Lodore Launch to Split Mountain - Part 3 of 3
The entry to Hell’s Half Mile, where I nearly had my only flip of the trip.
Lodore really does have some great features. The geology is incredible, the rapids are fun, and I lucked into a really nice group of people who took wonderful care of me.
All the same, when I look back on the entire trip, it was the sections above Fontenelle that left the strongest impression on me. The solitude, wildlife, and expansive vistas were unlike any other western river I have run. If you get the chance, go.
