We always took an hour for lunch, which gave a chance to do some reading, update a journal, or beat the brush to check out the next rapid. We took a break from paddling at a cliff side waterfall, but only Bryan braved the cold-water rinse. The topo showed a ruin located here and a futile search to find it was undertaken. It didn't matter. We were content working our way downriver through such a wilderness.
