Day 4 - RM 37 to Anderson Bottom
Anderson Bottom dead ahead with Frog's head on the right. We had not planned on camping here, but this bottom has some of the best campsites in the area. And the wind just kept getting worse. This night, Mark and myself thought his canoe was being dashed to pieces, but it was Ross and Dave's tent getting thrashed.
Afternoon hike
. First Butte of "Butte of the Crosses" visible in the notch. We had already checked out the
NPS cave
and
dynamited spring
which provided camp water. The very start of the slot had a
mucky looking pool and a sizable chockstone
. Despite our
wishful gazing
, it was back to the old cow-trail as the only feasible way to the top.
