Christmas tree rock serves as the marker for Aragon rapid. Although Maurer's guide lists two earlier Class II rapids, Eagle Bend and Sleeper, this is the first rapid. Solid Class II wavetrain that skirts the cliffwall. At this level, no rocks to dodge but with a couple waves that could upset an IK/canoe. Set up a very comfortable camp before hiking up Aragon Canyon. Starting to think all the guidebooks and trip reports are wrong about the box-end, but it is indeed there.
