San Juan River - June 2016 - Sand Island to River House Ruin
For the first few days of the trip, the weather was dynamic with clouds, wind, and rain showers. Much better than either freezing early in the year or baking later on. We launched with an a low but adequate 750 CFS. By the next day, spring runoff had arrived with flows hitting 2000. At
this point
we had been boating together 10 minutes. I could not yet remember everyone's name. People have been running the Juan for a while.
Charles
(in the NRS) said his dad used to take him through as a kid. Many rivers have a
Tiger Wall
feature, and the
San Juan
is no exception.
