Day 3 - Butler Wash to Mule Ear
Then off downriver to see if the highly desirable
Mule Ear campsite
was available. Per how this trip went, it was. For the
newcomers to tandem canoeing
, encountering the first moving water of the trip confirmed that they would likely swim at some point. Following the true way can be harsh at times. Such a relief to have the
Mule Ear campsite
open as the plan had been to layover there for two days. It is a small but nice site with shade and the trailhead for our major hike.
