Day 4 - Mule Ear Day Hike
It is not trivial finding wash to rim routes. The small bands of
horses
and
mules/burros
roaming around were surprising. At one point, stumbled onto more than the usual amount of
sherds
. Feel that something such as a
ceremonial breaking of pots
occurred here. Of course, the other viewpoint is the whole area used to look like this and it's all been taken. This
view
was stunning, with
several ruins
within sight.
I knew that the dozen or so miles of hiking were all that my knee would take so Jim and I headed back. Mark, Rich, and Bonner continued
ruin browsing
, some of which had more then casual
exposure.
