Rock In Middle rapid (II). Apparently this rock has finished off many Verde trips within a mile of the Childs access point. It seems easy to get caught up in avoiding the trees in the run-in and not notice the rock until too late. Especially if only in a canoe for the two minutes it takes to get here. Had lunch at the East Verde Creek outlet. Not a very nice campsite for the night but had a decent view and was out of the wind. About on schedule but predicted strong winds should play havoc. The Verde is a tough river to take pictures on. Not much chance to open the Pelican box while on the water. So no pictures of the hot springs, Childs, Childs RAP, or much of anywhere else.
