Cottonwood eroded into the stream as we passed, and while a guest oared the boat, a perfect pin placement against a midstream tree. Water so fast we delayed when possible which included an extended stop at a mining cabin. It was here that the black schist began to appear. Same stuff as in the Grand Canyon. The inner canyon has a different look and feel to it with the granite. Time to put on the wet/dry suits with Little Dolores Rapid just downstream.
