Swallow Canyon.

The camp at the end of Swallow Canyon was so dismal we carried on to Swinging Bridge, in the Brown's Park National Wildlife Refuge. It was desolate and very windy.

Below Swallow Canyon the wide, flat character resumes. We had to keep a close eye on the channel to avoid dragging, as the river becomes very wide, but very thin. The next day we pushed on to Crook Camp, also in the NWR. It was not bad, and only 9 miles from Lodore launch.
