Upper Green River - May 2012 - Flaming Gorge Dam to Lodore Launch - Part 4 of 6
Below Flaming Gorge Dam, day two.
Set aside some time to wander around the Jarvie Ranch historical site. We spent close to two hours there. It is very interesting, and the volunteer host was well informed and very gracious.
Below the Jarvie Ranch, the Brown's Park area gets flatter and wider. The river is a shallow, braided flat water stretch that meanders slowly through grassy meadows and patches of cottonwood. Swallow Canyon offers a bit of respite, with nice red cliffs.
