Verde River from Sycamore Creek to Lower Tapco River Access

Walt had offered to drive to Tuzigoot and pick us up if we wanted to go on those three additional miles, but no one did, and we were all ready to be off the river at Tapco. Walt drove Mark and I back to Sycamore and part way down the hill until a tree blocked his camper. Mark and I walked the rest of the way and got the SUVs and stayed together until we reached the main road. We loaded the boats at Tapco and Michelle said it had gotten cold once the sun went behind the hill. It got dark as we drove from Tapco to Clarkdale and we all had dinner together at the Mexican Food place Michelle and I had eaten at in June when we hiked at Sycamore Creek. We were tired for the drive home and got home at about 8:30 pm. This had been a warm autumn and there had not been a hard freeze yet. The leaves on the trees were just beginning to turn yellow and fall off and were very scenic both on the trees and on the ground. This was a good time of year to go. A few weeks earlier may have been even better when the yellow flowers were in full bloom. These events could take place earlier on a cooler year.
