Pleasant afternoon day hike of about a half-mile up HorseThief, then scramble up a break littered with petrified wood to reach the mid-level ledge. Tomorrow was to be a layover day with the full fourteen+ miles of the drainage scheduled. Despite, or perhaps because of, Kelsey's two described exit routes were not to be found. Lower two thirds of the canyon easy hiking but a bit of a slog. Upper one third very good stuff. Oddly enough, never found much in the way of artifacts here.
