From Jasper on the river takes a noticeable tilt downhill. We stop at Water for snacks. Ross and Dave stay for a while to explore up-canyon. Mark and myself are ready to see the confluence and push on. I like Water Canyon quite well and plan on next trip exploring Shot Canyon. Just downstream from Water Canyon. Wind making us work but not at the same physical level as before. This day's efforts and character were more in-line with what I had been expecting. Confluence dead ahead. Did not realize the sandbar there is underwater at higher levels. Somehow, like Spanish Bottom, had assumed it was always there.
