Day 8 - Lay over in Spanish Bottom

The ghetto at Spanish Bottom. Wasn't that bad and in some ways met our needs nicely, but it was no sandbar below Horse Canyon either. To stay out of the wind, we setup on the first ledge off the river and were very close together. The general consensus was that if we did it again, would not make such a big deal out of the gear. Minimalist Fred, who showed up as we were getting ready to depart, has his entire gear set down to probably less than thirty five pounds. I found the table and small outback oven worth the effort though. Hot blueberry muffins tonight were right on target.
