Day 4 - River Mile 17.4 Campsite to Big Eddy

This mile-long stretch in front of the Christ in the Desert Monastery was the slowest of the trip and the only slog. We take-out too late for the planned visit to the monastery, which maintains their own web page. Geese were the prevailing wildlife, with goslings appearing at the lower elevations. We stop at the Chavez Canyon RAP and search for a bathroom but come up empty. The boats colliding at Chavez did cause my first twisted oarright. The effort to stop, align and resume caused me to rethink this whole feathered approach. The big cat heads into Undercut Rapid (II).
