Day 1 - Sand Island to Butler Wash
Launched under brisk, dynamic skies. After a short
eddy-out to let the flotilla pass
, it was off to the very
small parking lot at Butler Wash.
Had tried to stay here last fall but was already occupied. Once
camp had been established,
it was off for a full afternoon of
exploring lower Butler Wash.
We worked the wash pretty thoroughly, note
mid-photo Rich and Jim checking the alcove.
Multiple ruins
to be found in the canyon along with this unusual
bullet-damaged work.
Part of the oddity concerning this glyph is the
unexpected location
and sans any accompaniment.
