This section below Bartlett has a nice mix of flat and moving water. It is usually rated class II with many strainers and one noticable drop called the "Ledge". The wind blew upriver some, but never became a major detraction. That left us with a fairly relaxed paddle. A long lunch made for a full river day. It was a nice, shady spot with both Lucy and I liking the polished granite. Just yards away, the typical Arizona scenery felt 15 degrees hotter than riverside.
