DeadLizard
Days 1 and 2 - Deer Lodge State Campground to Anderson Hole Camp.
With only 5 miles to make on launch day, there was no rush for the final rigging. Five minutes after launching we stop at the extremely well-built
Shank cabin
on river right. With built-in cabinets and
massive roof beams
, it proves a worthy stop. The
entrance to the Yampa River canyon
is a well-known and photographed scene. An hour later, we arrive at
Anderson Hole
, our assigned camp. With this flow, the trip consistently has all afternoon to
hike
and
play tourist
. The
Stubs cabin
and
cliff watching
are popular past times. Our
beach
gradually disappears with the ever increasing flow.
