It was only 3 miles from Echo to Sea Cliff, but it took us over an hour to get there. That was twice as long as the trip average. While on river, we were constantly being wind-blown, stuck in an eddy, or fighting the current. It felt good to finally pull in and get out of the wind. The highlight for me was catching the Denis Julien inscription as I am a fan. Most of the afternoon was spent dodging the sun, but there was one short hike which provided a decent river view.
