The next morning the sky was clear and the weather as perfect as it could be.
Red Creek Rapid was not far below, and it is the one spot we scouted on this section. It is worth a scout. The main channel is river right, but cliffs along the bank make scouting problematic. From the left, the main channel looked bad, but there was room for our SOARs to sneak down the left. That's what we did.
Note that the dam releases cause the water to bounce up and down by as much as a foot or more. If you run Red Creek, stop and have a look. It seems like a rapid whose character will change quickly with flow. Another few hundred cfs and the right would have probably looked a lot better.
