Day 1 - Diamond Creek to Travertine Falls
With the exception of a nearly packed commercial, had
Diamond Creek
to ourselves. Initially it was hot with
clear skies
for the
start of rigging
, but the thunderheads were soon overhead. The
muddy water
did not make for an inviting dip, but it was a cooling requirement. First time not using a boat bag for transit, first time to have a wear hole in a tube. Usually considered over-anal for my
repair kit
, this time the
wonder tape
proved a life-saver. Was incredibly lucky to find the hole so easily. We launched just as the thunderstorm arrived, which made for a
chaotic first 30 minutes on river
.
