San Juan River - June 2016 - River House Ruin to Fossil Camp
We were worried about the wind, but it did not happen. Once past
Mule Ear
you enter the upper canyon. In fact, I do not remember anything of note for this day on
the water
. It was simply
smooth sailing
although I kept expecting the weather to
impact the boating
. Surprisingly,
Fossil Camp
was available so we grabbed it. That made for an easy out day of six miles to Mexican Hat for myself. Everyone else was in for the duration. I have noticed over the last few visits here that the
fossils are disappearing
via the hammer and chisel route. Sad to see that.
